Butcher's Roast

Butcher's Roast
This versatile, tasty roast is a secret Butchers like to keep for themselves. Choose your cooking method!

Option 1: This roast is well-suited to slow braises to create fork-tender, intoxicatingly flavorful meat. Put it in the slow cooker with onions, carrots, root vegetables and some red wine and you'll have a wonderful Shabbat dinner.

Option 2: Rub with your favorite spices and a handful of ground coffee, then cook in a low, slow oven (250-275 F or lower, if you dare!). It's done when the center reaches 125-130 F (Medium/Rare to Rare) Slice thinly and serve with dinner or on a sandwich.

~$16.49/lb. Sold by the piece, boneless chuck roast, individually vacuum packed

Roaming around grassy pastures, our cattle exercise their muscles, giving our chuck roast its intense flavor. Our chuck roasts come from 100% grass-fed and finished glatt kosher beef, and are best suited to slow braises that create fork-tender, intoxicatingly flavorful meat. The farmers we partner with raise cattle organically and sustainably, producing delicious meat that is healthier, more ethical, and more environmentally friendly than conventionally raised meat. Bring your Jewish values to the table by serving your family and guests a homemade meal of kosher, sustainable braised chuck roast brimming with rich flavor.
Remember, 100% grass-fed beef cooks differently from grain-fed beef. To convert your recipes, please consult our Cooking Tips.

Ground Beef Chuck - 85% Lean

Our small batch, 100% pure and simple ground meat comes from 100% grass-fed and finished glatt kosher beef forequarters, and makes for the perfect burger at your summer barbecue or kreplach in your bubbie ’s soup.

Hamburger vs Ground
According to the USDA, the only difference is the fat. Hamburger can contain subcutaneous fat and various trimmings that have been exposed to the environment of the packinghouse and are thus susceptible to contamination. And it may have been treated with ammonia hydroxide gas to destroy pathogens. This is why we only do ground beef.
